The movie will be the movie we were supposed to watch a week ago, Silent Night Deadly Night. After his parents are murdered, a young tormented teenager goes on a murderous rampage dressed as Santa Claus. Oh yeah, a killer Santa Claus movie! This one is a little harder to find, but if you don’t have it or rent it on dvd, I’m sure it is available on YouTube in some form. Remember to subscribe on iTunes and please tell your friends! See you next week!!

Episode 47: Class Of 1999

class991bGrab an assault rifle and a grenade launcher, because we’re going back to school – WAY back to 1990’s dystopian mayhem-fest, Class of 1999! We love these dark future stories with no basis in reality. By 1999, school violence has risen so dramatically all across the country that the police have completely ceded the areas around schools to the gangs, but somehow still have the power to force gangbangers more heavily armed than a terrorist cell to go to class. Into this environment returns former gang member Cody Culp, who is paroled from his prison sentence for sniffing Leggos on the condition that he goes to class. Unfortunately for Cody and his Black Hearted buddies, the Department of Educational Defense just started using his school as the lab for its new “Tactical Education Units,” or Terminators-turned-teachers. Principal Malcolm McDowell leaves control of Pam Grier and her cyborg colleagues up to Stacy Keach’s mad scientist character Dr. Forest, because who WOULDN’T trust a man with dead eyes and a white mullet who thinks it’s “fascinating” when the teachers start murdering students for minor infractions? After Cody suffers a huge personal loss, he forms an alliance with both the school’s gangs with the rallying cry of, “Let’s waste some teachers!” The take-home message here? “Stay in gangs, kids!” (That or, “Don’t get your balls burned off!”)

Next week, Corey will be joined by friends of the podcast Gina and Ryan as we go back to Netflix for our listener request and recent release, 2013’s Axe Giant: The Wrath of Paul Bunyan! Prissy twenty-somethings at a prison bootcamp inadvertently desecrate the grave of Babe, the Big Blue Ox, causing a giant undead Paul Bunyan to come swinging his giant axe at their heads. This one should give Sharknado a run for its money. All aboard Sgt. Hoke’s happy short bus!

Episode 44: D.N.A.

9gNlEeluPMGFTk38w48vZSXDpJ2aDeep in the jungles of Borneo, an ancient evil alien/dinosaur/Predator has been resurrected by a mad scientist, and it’s out for… cerebro-spinal fluid! Or something! This week we’ve paddled our way back down the River of Time to catch Mark Dacascos in 1997’s chimerical ripoff horror movie, DNA! Ash is an American doctor working in Borneo out of the kindness of his heart, until the evil Dr. Wessinger tricks him into helping him find a beetle that will make his cloned dinosaur killing machine nearly invincible. To atone for his mistake, Ash teams up with a pathetic CIA operative who advertises her job on her luggage and snaps pics for Instagram the whole movie. Once into the jungle, they spend more time fighting Wessinger’s goons than the creature, and end up resorting to a Nerf missile launcher to take down the killer in one of worst finishing moves we’ve seen in years. And even though a kid dies, Ash and Claire kinda sorta end up in love. Or something. The end.

We’ll see you all back here next week at High Noon. At Mega Mountain. With the Three Ninjas. And Hulk Hogan. Back in 1998. Thrill as The Hulkster drops the Big Leg on a semi-popular kids movie franchise, just before he did the same to WCW! This one’s not available on Netflix, so you’ll have to dig around a bit to find it. Probably in the dumpster of your local Suncoast. Which probably doesn’t even exist anymore. But yeah. Three Ninjas!

Episode 35: Student Bodies

student_bodies_malvert_the_janitor_stick1Is that a horse head bookend in your pocket, or are you just happy to see us? This week we’ve wood worked our way back to 1981 to watch one of the first (and possibly best) parodies of the slasher genre: Student Bodies. The students of Lamab High are some of the horniest film teens we’ve ever seen. Unfortunately for them, they’re all being stalked by a sexually frustrated serial killer with a fetish for weird murder weapons. Toby the school prude pleads with her friends to put the kibosh on their wild and crazy ways, but since everything from garbage to funerals gets them hot, Toby’s stuck picking up the pieces… of their bodies. Shop teacher Mr. Dumpkin and Malvert the janitor are some of stranger (and funniest) characters we’ve come across in our B Movie viewing, and the killer The Breather takes some hilarious shots at both the slasher genre and the entire cast, but the film falls flat during its acid trip of an ending, leaving the viewer wondering what, if anything, just happened. I don’t know where they get off leaving us hanging like that at 75 cents an hour, but weird ending aside, this is a fun film that both horror and parody fans will find appealing, and it’s one of our favorites so far. Although it’s not available on Netflix, be sure to check it out, Little Miss Shouldn’t Even Be Listening To This Podcast Anyway!

Next week we’re still in the 80s with another horror comedy, 1989’s My Mom’s A Werewolf. Teen Jennifer has to deal with her mom as she goes through the Big Change – into a werewolf. (And you thought YOUR mom was a bitch!) After being bitten by a rabid pet store owner, she begins a difficult and “hilarious” struggle against her own lycanthropy in a fashion that Teen Wolf (and probably Teen Wolf Too) pulls off much better. At least this movie won’t be the hassle that the last two were, as it IS available for streaming on Netflix. You can check out the trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMH6b4y7UE8

Episode 29: Sleepaway Camp

Sleepaway-Camp-8-610x250Gather ‘round now everyone. It’s almost time for this week’s review of 1983’s cult classic Sleepaway Camp! We’d hate for you to miss out on this one – no, that wouldn’t do at all. Ah, low budget indie slasher flicks are a breath of fresh air among today’s Hollywood dreck. You see, at Camp Arawak, young men actually get to be MEN: pranking, swearing, shit talking and chasing girls instead of getting ball busted by them. In spite of the friendlier environment, some haters have managed to sneak into the camp, but fortunately Aunt Martha’s disturbed little niece knows the nuts (see what I did there?) and bolts of dealing with these miscreants. Sadly, Angela’s teen angst has a body count that’s a little too high, and she ends up taking out not just the haters and pedos, but regular dudes who just like to prank and hurl a few insults. What Angela lacks in tact she makes up for in creativity, leading the haters to death by arrow, curling iron and a beehive on a stick. But nothing, and we mean NOTHING, can prepare you for the surprise ending that will sear itself into your memory for the rest of your life.

Next week we’ll be looking at 2002’s action-gladiator sci-fi mess Rollerball. LL Cool J and Chris Klein join the number one Rollerball team in Kazakhstan (Very nice!), but find the sport’s scumbag promoter is getting their team hurt and/or killed for ticket sales. With a soundtrack full of forgettable pop rock like P.O.D. and Godsmack and cameos by P!nk, Paul Heyman and Shane McMahon, you just know this film will be a solid, well-scripted drama. Get your Serious Faces on, everybody. This film is available for streaming on Netflix, as per usual.

Episode 24: Meet The Applegates

meettheapplegatesIt takes a very special movie to weave rape, sexual torture, genital mutilation and infanticide into a light-hearted “family” comedy, and did we ever find one this week with 1991’s Meet the Applegates! We’re not sure if this is an example of militant environmentalism or a parody of the same, but this family of genocidal giant mantises masquerading as humans makes our past broken B movie families look like The Brady Bunch. Applegate patriarch Dick is out to cause a deadly meltdown at his NUCULAR power plant to wipe out humanity for the sake of insect-kind, but when his wife refuses to put out he abandons his sinister plans in order to bang his secretary and “splay her like a Cornish game hen.” Mom Jane spends her family into the poorhouse with credit cards after her first shopping trip while son Johnny becomes a pothead drug dealer after smoking his first joint and daughter Sally gets raped, told to abort her pregnancy, and has to see her newborn baby murdered ten seconds after it’s born. But all this is accompanied by David Newman’s silly, irreverent score so we know it’s all in good fun, right? After the Applegates hit rock bottom, they miraculously turn their lives around with a camping trip in an RV and everything’s okay! Maybe. Possibly. In ways. I think. You know, except for the radiation leak caused by their murderous drag queen Aunt.

Next week we’re journeying back to 2000 and the dying days of Ted Turner’s Dubya See Dubya with Ready To Rumble! When David Arquette and Scott Caan’s favorite fictional wrestler Jimmy King is cheated out of the WCW Heavyweight Title and fired from the company, these two wrestling geeks take to internet stalking to force their idol back into the ring. And this was back in the pre-Facebook and Google days, where you really had to WORK at cyber-stalking. Until then, GET OFF THE PHONE YOU FUCKIN’ PUSSIES! (Sadly, this movie is not available on Netflix or Youtube, so we’ll have to hit the video stores this time. It’s totally worth it though.)

Remember every movie we watch is available for streaming on Netflix or YouTube! [Unless we say otherwise] Like next week, it’s not on either. 😦
