Episode 55: Visiting Hours

visiting-hours-6This week we have a movie so frightening you may NEVER recover! That’s right, in this episode we take a look at the 1982 underrated slasher film Visiting Hours. Deborah is a controversial middle-aged TV journalist, who is campaigning on air on behalf of a battered woman who murdered her abusive husband, claiming justifiable defense against the so-called victim. But her outspoken views on women’s rights incense one of the studio’s cleaning staff, closet homicidal psycho Colt Hawker. Colt, played my the underrated Michael Ironside, has some deep seated issues despising all things female, that occurred from seeing his Mother throwing boiling oil in the face of his abusive Father when he was a small child. On his first attack she somehow manages to survive, which leads to her being bed-ridden in a hospital and the true terror begins.

Next week, though October is over and we started a tad late, ends our month long horror movie marathon (don’t worry we always come back to horror its our mainstay). We end the marathon with the 1993 made for Showtime anthology movie Body Bags. Presented by John Carpenter, this is three tales of pure terror hosted by the man himself playing the Crypt Keeper like character, The Coroner. This movie is filled with tons of cameos and stars including Mark Hamil, Stacy Keech, Wes Craven, Tobe Hooper, and so many more. This is available in full on YouTube and just came out on bluray from Shout Factory’s horror division, Scream Factory.

Remember every movie we watch is available for streaming on Netflix or YouTube! [Unless we say otherwise]
